Mini Conference

P.A.C.I.F.I.C.A. Inc operates a regional structure and each region has as its annual focus a Regional Mini conference.

The Vice President of the region chairs the Mini conference. This is an important event for the region. This is the forum where branches bring issues for debate and clarification, share their achievements and challenges and communicate to the Vice Presidents matters that need to be advocated to the National Executive Committee or Council.

Council Meeting

P.A.C.I.F.I.C.A's Council Meeting, which is the meeting of the National Executive Committee and all branch presidents.

This is generally a forum for the National Executive Committee to update branch presidents (or their representative) on activities and tasks the National Executive Committee were required to undertake as well as issues of importance that have arisen since the previous Annual General Meeting. The National President is the Chairman of this meeting and each branch has the right to exercise a singular vote.

The Annual General Meeting

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) is held as part of the Annual Conference. In 2008 the AGM/Conference is being held in Flaxmere, Hastings 22-24 February.

The AGM is P.A.C.I.F.I.C.A. Inc’s largest gathering in any year. Members throughout the country get together to conduct the main business of the organisation but also to celebrate being together. All financial members participate in the AGM and exercise their vote on all decisions made. Members participate in workshops in line with the yearly conference theme, weaving, fashion and speech contests and celebrating being together as Pacific women and enjoying the fellowship.

Elections of members of the National Executive Committee take place biennially. All members of this Committee: Northern, Central and Southern Vice Presidents, National Secretary, National Treasurer, Youth Representative, National Assistant Secretary and National Assistant Treasurer stand down after two years but may be re-elected. There is no limit on the time these women may serve at national level. In line with the Constitution the National President serves a maximum of two terms/four years and must step down at the end of her term.

All Regional Mini Conferences, the Council meeting, and the AGM, are preceded by meetings of the National Executive Committee.

Most regions have regular newsletters put out by their Vice President. There is also a national newsletter called Pacifica Ink for financial members only and is put out around the time of National meetings.
