Talofa lava and welcome to the southern region webpage.  My name is (Misa) Emma Kesha (Samoan), residing in Dunedin city.  My role as South Island vice-president is to support the branches in my region, as well as represent their "voice" on the national executive of P.A.C.I.F.I.C.A. Incorporated.

"I am a foundation member of P.A.C.I.F.I.C.A. and eagerly joined the Invercargill branch in 1975 when the organisation started.  I actively served in office bearer positions for Invercargill and Dunedin branches, on moving to Dunedin in 1982.  I founded the Dunedin Central branch in 1986, and was elected to the National Executive of P.A.C.I.F.I.C.A. in 1997.  My passion and enthusiasm for P.A.C.I.F.I.C.A. has continued throughout the past 33 years"

Regional Developments

Nelson - (23 November 2007)
South Island vice-president Emma, was invited to meet with a group of pacific women to promote the aims and objectives of P.A.C.I.F.I.C.A.  She held a "weaving" workshop, which the women enjoyed during the day.

Sam and Debra travelled from Christchurch to support the meeting that night.  It was an evening of song, dance, fun, sharing, learning and getting to know one another.  By the end, this lovely group of women, made a commitment that they would like to start a branch of P.A.C.I.F.I.C.A. in Nelson.

We thank them all for their warmth and generous hospitality during our visit to the beautiful Nelson region!!!

Timaru - (23 April 2008)
A meeting with pacific women in Timaru has been scheduled, as an opportunity to meet, share and gauge interest in forming a new P.A.C.I.F.I.C.A. branch, from the community network which already exists there.
